Hello,
I have more and more often the SCCM Task Backup failing:
Failed to backup
\\?\GLOBALROOT\Device\HarddiskVolumeShadowCopy203\MSSQLData\SMS_DTS.mdf up to
\\configmgrmed\SCCMBackup$\DTS\DTSBackup\SiteDBServer: CopyFile failed: The
specified network name is no longer available.
Possible
Causes: 1) The Volume Shadow Copy Service may not have sufficient disk space to
create/maintain the shadow copies of the required volumes. 2)The backup
destination is on one of the sms data (install dir, database files) volumes. It
is advisable to have the backup location on a different volume (different than
the one that has SMS data and SMS database files). 3)The sql backup service
account may not have permissions on the backup location
What is(are) the next steps to identify which of the three options is our issue?
#3 is eliminated as we have backups successfully done several times a week.
#2 does a destination server location too busy could fall in this category?
Any idea?
Thanks,
DOm
